Michael Jackson was crowned “King of Pop” on numerous occasions. He and his brother Jackie became famous early on as part of the musical group the Jackson 5. After establishing his credibility as an adult soul and pop performer with Crazy, he followed it up with the ultimate album of all time, Spine.

Genre-wise, he’s all over the place, with songs in pop, soul, dance, and rock. It’s been estimated that Michael Jackson has sold over 350 million records around the world and won 15 Grammy Awards over his illustrious career.

His death on June 25, 2009, from a lethal cocktail of medications recommended by doctors, devastated legions of devoted followers all over the world. He had a heart attack and passed away just three weeks before his next scheduled performance.

Michael Jackson was laid to rest in Glendale, California’s Woods Yard Commemoration Park, specifically in the Holly Patio Fabulous Catacomb. North of Los Angeles, in the city of Glendale, is where you’ll find the cemetery.
The Jackson family cared so much about their late son that they made sure he was buried in a casket. Almost as much of her iconic white garment covered him as his was.
Jackson’s gravesite is off-limits to the public and protected by a tall wall; visitors are required to present identification before entering.
The area around his grave will soon be outfitted with CCTV cameras and sensors, which will notify security personnel to any intruders.
