Winnie Bwire, who is most known for her role as Dida on the Sultana show, recently revealed that she has been undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

The gifted actress thanked God in an emotional letter for sparing her from the effects of cancer.

As October comes to a close, I’d like to express my gratitude for all of your support and love during my battle with breast cancer. Those that know have been with me from the start. We’re almost done with this lap, and I’m thankful to have you in my life. God deserves all the credit; after all, he is the reason for my success. It’s up to us to usemwe ukweli.

Dida, who plays JJ’s girlfriend on Sultana, expressed her appreciation to her parents, family, and coworker Dan Sonko for their encouragement.

She thanked her “parents, in-laws, cousins, coworkers, supervisors, Ddctor and nurses, children, and last but certainly not least, my closest friend, my love and caregiver Dan Sonko.”

The breast cancer survivor posted pictures of herself in a white outfit and a freshly shaved head with cancer awareness hashtags.

If it weren’t for you guys, I doubt we’d be having such an easy time of it. “I am here today because of the love, support, and shield you’ve surrounded me with from the very beginning,” she continued.

Bwire encouraged women to be screened regularly and fight cancer to the death if they are ever diagnosed with it.

Breast cancer does not discriminate based on race, size, age, or gender. Learn your body and take care of it. Keep waging the good fight, fighters! It’s up to you how you use your time here on Earth. Don’t lose the battle against cancer. Try not to let that deter you. She urged, “Don’t let that eat at your mind.”

Those who followed Bwire on social media lifted her up in prayer and sent words of support.
