Journalism is one of the highest-paying jobs in Kenya. In terms of journalism, Rashid Abdalla and Lulu Hassan are well compensated, as evidenced by allowance tokens on their pay stubs. It’s no secret that Royal Media Services makes a significant contribution to the couple’s income.

Lulu Hassan and Rashid Abdalla, Citizen TV’s power couple, have consistently warmed fans’ hearts with their on-screen chemistry, mastery and delivery of the Swahili language, and outstanding matching outfits that complement each other’s looks.
Citizen TV, which is owned by RMS, pays well, with Jeff Koinange earning around Ksh. 2 million per month. Lulu, on the other hand, works for a media network and is compensated handsomely.
Lulu’s salary & net worth
During a previous interview with Spm Buzz, Lulu confirmed that they both started out in radio, earning Ksh5,000 each.
Lulu, who was 20 at the time, was working as a part-time news anchor while also studying media.
Unbeknownst to many, the couple has been earning equal pay since they met while working at different media outlets.
“When we relocated to Nairobi, we were fortunate enough to be hired at the same time; him at Nation Media Group and me at Standard Media Group, we still earned the same salary,” Lulu Hassan noted.
Rashid and his wife Lulu benefit from advertisements, endorsements, and multi-million dollar investment transactions. That is, the couple earns an average of Ksh. 2 million per year, with some years earning even more.

Currently, Citizen TV news anchors’ salaries have not yet been made public, but sources claim they are significantly higher than those of other media outlets.
Lulu’s Education and career background
Before attending Salrene Travel Operations College, Lulu Hassan attended Aga Khan Academy High School.
While in college, she worked as a cabin crew hostess, ticketing officer, and human resource manager. Lulu Hassan continued her studies in communication and journalism.
