Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu On 1st, October shared a heartwarming moment with her two children after they surprised her at work.
The senator, visibly delighted, posted the photos online with a caption reflecting her joy in balancing politics and motherhood.
“The more a mother enjoys her motherhood, the more a child enjoys their childhood. The two are intertwined. When the two Musketeers came to pick mama from work,” she wrote.
In the images, Nyamu is seen walking hand in hand with her son and daughter outside the Parliament Buildings in Nairobi.
Dressed in a maroon checkered suit, she beamed as the youngsters accompanied her, a scene that quickly captured public attention.
Nyamu, who shares the children with popular Kikuyu musician Samidoh, has often been candid about family life.
Nyamu faced backlash in the past for allegedly “stealing” Samidoh from his first wife, Edday Nderitu.
She first met Samidoh at a political event in late 2019, when he was performing. Their affair led to the birth of their son in December 2020, followed by the birth of their daughter on February 26, 2022.
The relationship caused significant strain in Samidoh’s marriage, eventually leading Edday to relocate to the US with their children.
Despite their breakup, Nyamu has always praised Samidoh for being a present father in their children’s lives.
Nyamu once responded to Edday after she came out to dump Samidoh because of his relationship with the politician.
Many Kenyans praised touching moment, describing it as a refreshing reminder that leaders, despite their busy schedules, also cherish time with their families.
