“Why Treat Me Like This?” Victoria Calls Out 25,000 Silent Story Viewers for Never Interacting

In today’s digital world, attention is everything. Yet, singer Victoria Kimani has raised an interesting concern many content creators can relate to.

She pointed out that despite thousands of people viewing her Instagram stories, very few bother to interact. This left her feeling like she is being observed but not truly engaged. How often do we watch without acknowledging the person sharing?

The Kenyan-American artist shared her thoughts online, noting that over 25,000 people view her stories daily but rarely leave comments or reactions. Her reflection, captured in this post, compared the experience to being sidelined in a relationship, where one feels present but not valued.

For Kimani, the numbers alone do not tell the whole story. Having a large audience can seem rewarding, but the absence of real interaction can leave one questioning the connection.

She expressed that it feels one-sided, as though people are curious enough to watch but unwilling to engage. The full account can be seen here.

Her sentiments echo a struggle familiar to many online creators. In an age where visibility is measured in likes, shares, and comments, silent viewership can sometimes feel empty. It raises questions about whether social media builds true connections or only shallow encounters.

Fans and followers may see no harm in simply watching, but for artists like Kimani, interaction is part of the creative cycle. Engagement fuels motivation, validates effort, and creates community. Without it, the experience can feel transactional rather than personal.

Kimani’s remarks are a reminder that behind every post is a real human seeking connection, not just numbers. Her openness invites everyone to think about their own digital habits. Do we support the people we follow by interacting, or do we just remain quiet spectators?
