Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua openly criticized the generators at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), labeling them as fake in the aftermath of a nationwide power outage.
The incident has sparked a heated debate among Kenyans, with divergent opinions flooding social media platforms.

According to a report on kenyans.co.ke, Gachagua dismissed calls for the removal of Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, who has faced scrutiny in the wake of the power outage.
Reacting to Gachagua’s statement, citizens took to Twitter to voice their views on the matter.
Cedric, a disillusioned voter, expressed concern about potential regrets in the future, stating, “I voted for Ruto and Riggy G, lakini ikifika 2027 kama bado nikuongea tu naona mkilose my vote, even if it’s a single vote it will make an impact.”

Eduh highlighted the recurrent blame game, predicting, “The story of blaming the previous government has so many episodes. Mark you they will be blaming the previous regime in 2031.”
Bruce criticized Gachagua’s stance, drawing attention to past financial losses at JKIA during the 2013-2017 era, asserting, “Look at the kettle calling the pot black who was not in the previous regime if not the incumbents. Jkia lost billions in facelifts during 2013-2017 era atime when the blossom friends dressed alike. Bwana sisi sio wajinga!!!!”

Wahala supported the individuals who lost their jobs during the previous blackout, claiming, “The guys who were sacked during the last blackout at the airport have been vindicated. It was fake generators that failed. They should be reinstated immediately.”
Despite Gachagua’s strong stance, it remains unclear whether his allegations hold merit.
The controversy deepens as Kipchumba Murkomen refrains from taking any punitive action, despite earlier assurances that such incidents would not recur.
The public’s response reflects a growing skepticism among citizens, with doubts surrounding the authenticity of Gachagua’s claims.

The political landscape is further complicated by the ongoing rifts within the ruling party.
As Kenyans grapple with the aftermath of the power outage and engage in passionate discussions on social media, the need for a thorough investigation into the state of JKIA’s generators becomes apparent.
Only time will reveal the true nature of the situation, and until then, the nation remains divided over the controversial assertions made by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
