In a touching tribute to Kelvin Muriuki Mwithi, the Shah family initiated an online fundraiser that garnered remarkable support.

Within just 20 hours, the campaign amassed a substantial Ksh 2.3 million through 200 generous donations.

Notably, Shilpa’s brothers, Vishad and Shamit, made a standout contribution of Ksh 182,000, which became the largest recorded donation at the time of publishing.

The overarching goal of this benevolent campaign is to reach Ksh 3.64 million, equivalent to 20,000 pounds, to provide crucial support to Kelvin’s grieving family during this challenging time.

The tragic incident that claimed the lives of Shilpa and Kelvin while trekking Mount Kenya deeply moved the Shah family.

In a statement, they expressed their gratitude to Kelvin, acknowledging him as a hero guide.

His selfless attempt to save Shilpa, who had slipped during the trek, left an indelible mark.

Kelvin leaves behind a young wife and child, and his untimely demise not only robbed them of a loved one but also their primary source of livelihood.

Friends and family remember Kelvin as a true angel, someone who radiated positivity and selflessly dedicated himself to guiding mountaineering expeditions.

His infectious smile and boundless sense of humor endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Well-wishers have commended the Shah family’s kindness and extended their heartfelt condolences to both grieving families.

In addition to the Shah family’s initiative, Kelvin’s friends from Kenya have also started online contributions to support his young family.

The profound loss has left a void in their hearts, but the tributes pouring in serve as a testament to Kelvin’s selflessness and dedication to humanity.

As we mourn the loss of Kelvin Muriuki Mwithi, may his memory inspire us to live fully and dedicate our lives to the service of humanity, just as he did.
