In a recent turn of events, the streets of Nairobi saw an incredible display of support for a distressed street vendor named Quinter, who had fallen victim to a crackdown by Nairobi County Kanjo officers.
The incident unfolded during a raid targeting street vendors, particularly those selling popular items like smokies (sausages) and boiled eggs.

Some Kanjo officers were captured in a viral video vandalizing and destroying the vendors’ carts.
One of those affected was Quinter, a middle-aged woman whose livelihood was destroyed as her cart was ruthlessly damaged and discarded on Nairobi’s streets.

This heartbreaking scene quickly gained attention on social media, sparking outrage among many Kenyans.
Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi, moved by the distressing video, went to the scene to console Quinter and offered his support.
He not only provided comfort in person but also shared Quinter’s story on social media, encouraging people to help her get back on her feet by restocking her business.

The response from fellow Kenyans was remarkable. In less than three hours, Eric Omondi managed to raise a substantial sum of Ksh 556,000 for this mission.
Just a few minutes ago, Omondi expressed his gratitude to generous contributors and announced that he had successfully collected a total of Ksh 600,000, which he presented to Quinter.
This significant sum has given her a fresh start and the opportunity to rebuild her business.

This heartwarming story showcases the power of unity and compassion within the community.
Quinter’s resilience, Eric Omondi’s empathy, and the kindness of contributors have made a significant impact in transforming one woman’s life, highlighting the strength of the human spirit during challenging times.
