Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has found himself in a new predicament shortly after President Ruto reshuffled him to a different ministry.
This fresh trouble arises as a group of leaders from the Mount Kenya region issues new demands, urging Kuria to apologize to the Meru people for what they perceive as insulting and disrespectful remarks.

Kuria’s controversial statement came during the unveiling of the Aggregation Industrial Park in Ruiri Rwarera Ward when he referred to Meru residents as “chaotic.” This comment sparked anger among local leaders and residents alike.
Leading the charge in demanding an apology from Kuria is Meru parliamentary caucus chairman, Mugambi Rindikiri.
He expressed concerns about Kuria’s apparent disdain for their community and questioned the purpose of his presence—whether it was for official business or merely to show disrespect.
During a Sunday event, the politicians brought up their concerns with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Rindikiri emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “Deputy President, we want to send you a message: this is a provocation of the highest order. If our own people can insult us, how can we deal with our enemies?”
It’s important to note that the MPs involved in this demand clarified that they do not have any personal agenda against Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria.
Instead, they seek a simple apology from him and have also urged him to refrain from getting involved in Meru politics.
These leaders have called upon Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to promptly convey their message to Moses Kuria.
The situation appears to be a growing concern in the Mount Kenya region, where unity and respect among various communities hold significant importance.
As this situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how Cabinet Secretary Kuria and Deputy President Gachagua will respond to these demands from the Mount Kenya leaders and whether an apology will be issued to address the rift that has emerged.
