The Maendeleo Chap Chap Party’s gubernatorial candidate in Tharaka Nithi County, Mr Felix Gitari Mbiuki, has passed away.
According to local Gaaru Tv, the body of hon Gitari Mbiuki was discovered in his car at Kanyuambora ishiara in Embu County with gunshot wounds.

Before his death, hon Gitari Mbiuki had served as clerk in several counties, the most recent being Machakos, where he resigned to run for Governorotorial in Tharaka Nithi County.
Kangata, Mbeere north along Ishiara Kanyuambora road inhabitants reportedly awoke to discover a pick up truck parked next to their homes, as reported by Gaaru TV.
After discovering a body inside, they called the police, who arrived and began their investigation into the cause of death.
Professor Erastus Njoka, who ran for the same seat in the Jubilee Party but lost to UDA Party candidate Governor Muthomi Njuki, also confirmed the news of his death.
Professor Erastus Njoka expressed his sorrow over the loss of Hon. Felix Gitari Mbiuki on his Facebook page, writing that Mbiuki had “devoted his life to serving the people of Tharaka Nithi County.”
Before his death, Gitari Mbiuki established a charity called the Gitari Mbiuki Foundation to aid marginalized members of society, particularly young people.
