Okiya Omtata, a senator from Busia, has made an important disclosure concerning the finance act case he has brought against the government of President William Ruto.
The congressman claimed that he is under pressure from friends in the government to abandon the lawsuit.

He’s made it clear he won’t drop any cases if people keep on pressuring him to.
He continued by saying that he has been promised as much as Sh200 million to abandon the Anti Finance Act 2023.
The senator argued for an examination of Kenya’s debts and for the money to go to those who have actually helped the country.
He said that people who have benefited from the country’s prosperity should hold those responsible for its lack of advancement accountable.
The senator confirmed his resolve to keep fighting for what he thinks is right despite the obstacles he has encountered.
Monday’s rejection by the High Court to lift the orders that froze the execution of the Finance Act was a major defeat for President William Ruto’s administration.
The President signed the Finance Act 2023 on June 26, but it has no force of law as of right now.
