Since then, the Galana irrigation system has drawn the attention of the authorities. Photos of the Galana scheme irrigation taken by an unbiased party and shared online indicate the project is still active. It turns out that the scheme has been growing maize over an area of 538 acres.

In March of this year, the Kenyan government laid out specific plans to have the area pitted, irrigated, and planted with maize to bring down the price of maize in the country.

As a result, the government proposed allocating more than Ksh 100,000,000,000 to cultivate 10,000 acres of land.

To ensure the success of the project, it was put to the test, and the results, together with images of the current state of the Galana Tana River, are presented below.

Some adjustments, such as new water pipelines and pumping equipment, will be needed for the plantation to bear fruit and produce useful products. The crops may have trouble surviving even during wet years.

All labor costs must also be factored into the project budget. The government has a fantastic plan in the works to keep food prices stable in the country.
