The former commissioner reportedly received death threats from unknown sources, leading to his sudden and unannounced departure from the nation, as reported by The Star.
The commissioner, who has fled the country and is now living in exile, reportedly spoke out about the death threats she received after she refused to resign, which prompted an investigation into whether or not she had used state funds to buy lunch for President William ruto.
The Star reports that the commissioner, who had sided with three other commissioners in opposing the results given by the then-chairperson of the independent elections and boundaries commission, Wafula chebukati, fled the country in the dead of night wearing only her pajamas out of fear for her life.
