    Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa Announces Major Changes In The Company Leadership

    Kenya’s dominant telecom provider, Safaricom, has made a major announcement about expanding its services into Ethiopia.

    CEO of Safaricom Peter Ndegwa announced that as of September 1st, Wim Vanhelleputte will be taking over as CEO of Safaricom Ethiopia. In this pivotal position, Vanhelleputte will take over for Anwar Soussa.

    Wim Vanhelleputte’s hiring is highly significant as Safaricom increases its presence in the Ethiopian market.
    Safaricom sees Ethiopia as a great chance to expand its telecom services and contribute to the digital transformation of the country due to its large untapped potential.

    Vanhelleputte’s background in the telecommunications sector makes him an ideal leader for Safaricom Ethiopia.
    To his current position, Vanhelleputte offers extensive experience and training.
    He has extensive experience in the telecom industry, having worked as the CEO of MTN Uganda and in other executive capacities at other African telecom firms.
    His ability to lead and see the big picture will be crucial to expanding Safaricom’s business in Ethiopia.
    Peter Ndegwa has faith in Vanhelleputte’s ability, saying that he thinks his appointment will help Safaricom fulfill its purpose of empowering people via innovative solutions.
    Ndegwa also thanked Anwar Soussa for his time and effort as CEO of Safaricom Ethiopia, from which he is now departing.
    All eyes will be on Wim Vanhelleputte as Safaricom begins a new era in Ethiopia and looks to him to steer the company to success in this fast-paced, promising market.
    Vanhelleputte has the expertise and Safaricom’s committed team behind him to lead the company to success and make an impact in Ethiopia’s telecom industry.
