On the 6th of January, 2023. Authorkennedy Meet Rachael Kabue, a Mihang’o woman who forks over Ksh 280,000 every month to feed her 386 cats.
Originally from the Mihang’o tribe, Rachael Kabue now spends all of her time taking care of her 386 feline friends. As intimidating as that may seem, Rachael’s love and devotion to her feline friends knows no bounds.
When Rachael was young, she began an ongoing journey toward becoming a cat lover. She was raised in a home that stressed the importance of showing kindness to all living things, including animals. Rachael’s love for felines grew as she matured, and she ultimately made that passion the focus of her life’s work.

Now, Rachael spends a whopping Ksh 280,000 every month on her 386 cats. All the things that are essential to their health are included in this. Rachael is very proud of the care she gives to her cats and the quality of life she has created for them.
Rachael spends a lot of money on her cats, but she also spends a lot of time taking care of them. She gets up every morning at the crack of dawn to prepare their meals, and then spends the rest of the day with them, chatting, playing, and making sure they’re all right.
Rachael’s devotion to her many cats helps her persevere through the difficulties of caring for them all. She has developed close relationships with all of her cats, and they are all treated as members of the family.
All of us can take a cue from Rachael’s love and care for her cats. She’s proof that anyone can make a difference for animals if they put in the time, effort, and love.
The 386 cats in Rachael’s care are lucky to have her, and the rest of us are lucky to have Rachael and others like her in the world.
