Rayvanny recently added another feather to his cap by winning an international award that no East African musician has ever won.
The Distinctive International Arab Festivals Award DIAFA was presented at the Dubai Harbor Creek Marina in Dubai.
Tanzanian artist Rayvanny was among those honored by the country last night for his achievements. While accepting the award, he also paid tribute to President Samia Suluhu, saying,
“I want to dedicate this award to my President Samia Suluhu Hassan. She is the first female President in the history of our country,” the crowd cheered this delightful news.
“Naitoa Tuzo hii kwa Rais wangu Samia Suluhu Hassan, ni Rais wa kwanza Mwanamke kwenye Taifa letu.”
Chui also added how much the award meant to him.

Rayvanny was also nominated for the 19th edition of the Premios Juventud awards, which were held in June in Spain. He was nominated for an OMG Collaboration award.
The Tetema singer expressed his gratitude, saying he was honored to receive such widespread international recognition.
“First African artist to be nominated on @PremoisJuventud awards. #puertorico Category (OMG COLLABORATION) #Mamatetema MSANII WA KWANZA AFRICA KUA KWENYE TUZO ZA @premiosJuventud awards ZITAZOFANYIKA Puerto Rico, go vote now,” he wrote at the time.
Rayvanny was nominated for his hit song Mama Tetema, which featured Colombian singer Juan Luis Londono, aka Maluma.
Rayvanny was also nominated for an MTV Africa Music Award in the Breakthrough Act category in 2016.
He was also nominated for several music awards in 2017, including the AEUSA for Best New Talent, the Uganda Entertainment Award for Best African Act, and the BET Award for International Viewers’ Choice, which he won.
