Julius Owino, also known by his stage as Juliani, has denied meeting his wife Lilian Ng’ang’a while still married to former Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.
Juliani stated that he first met Lilian at a mutual friend’s event in the days preceding her split, and that their connection was solely spiritual.
“I met her by chance last year and we started speaking about consciousness and spirituality,” Juliani disclosed.
On Hot 96’s Uradi Show on Wednesday, September 28, the Hip Hop singer revealed that he had no idea the former Machakos First Lady was no longer married.
Juliani revealed that the 37-year-old then revealed to him that she was not in a relationship, which surprised him.
“She would later open up about her split which caught me by surprise since I only thought that we were conversing as recently acquainted friends,” he said.
The Utawala hitmaker went on to say that he was celibate at the time and was not looking for a girlfriend.
“I was celibate, I wasn’t looking for a partner and I was in a good place but things just turned out the way they did but all those allegations were just sad, to be honest,” he said.
Juliani and Lilian Ng’ang’a, who welcomed their first child earlier this month, married in February of this year, barely months after revealing their relationship.
This came after Lilian Ng’ang’a and the then-Governor of Machakos, Alfred Mutua, announced their separation on social media on August 15, 2021.
They had been together for more than nine years, during which she served as the official Machakos county first lady in addition to her official duties.
Juliani has released information concerning his safety, years after stating his life was in danger. He states that he is still guarding his back, despite the fact that their lives are not now under danger.
“Are the threats to your life still there?” Juliani was asked during the interview.
Juliani responded, claiming that he was fine and that he was still concerned about his safety and security.
“In plain sight, no, but I am still watching over my shoulder. Emotions were charged then so that might have caused the threats. Nobody knew what was going on and we thought falling in love was enough kumbe it wasn’t.”
