As part of his campaign for his favorite presidential candidate, Prof. George Wajackoyah, who wants to legalize the commercial growing of marijuana, Boniface Mutua shocked an Eldoret court by admitting to using bhang.
The 47 Mutua, a staunch supporter of Roots Party presidential candidate Prof. Wajahkoyah, has said that his actions are intended to spread awareness of the campaign’s platform. On July 11, Uasin Gishu County police recovered three rolls of weed in Mutua’s hands at Bahati estate in the Ainabkoi sub-county.

Before Eldoret Senior Resident Magistrate Christine Menya, Mutua did not blow his top when he admitted to the charges against him. He stated, “I want to be among the pioneers of bhang growing once Wajakhoyah becomes president.”

In a statement that had the entire courtroom in fits of laughter, Mutua said, “For now, I smoke bhang to gain courage and voluntarily campaign for Prof Wajackoyah, who has promised to legalize the cultivation and smoking of bhang…I might be among the commercial farmers of bhang if my candidate is elected President.”
George Wajackoyah, a candidate for president in 2022, has declared his intention to do so in an article for the communist newspaper Comrade KE News.

To comply with the court’s order, he must refrain from using the substance until either his candidate is elected or the legislation is altered. His plea resulted in a conviction and a sentence.
Since it is now illegal to trade and use bhang without a prescription from a doctor, the magistrate stated, “You will be sentenced following your own plea of guilty.”
