The time for Kenya’s long-awaited general election continues getting closer. In 2018, the midterm elections will be conducted on the second Tuesday of August. Kenyan citizens will be able to cast ballots for six contested seats in the upcoming general election.
Both the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and the Judiciary have guaranteed all Kenyans that they will investigate and prosecute any cases of election fraud. The campaign for president appears to be the most eagerly awaited.

There are now four presidential hopefuls with significant voices in this contest. Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Deputy President William Samoei Ruto, Professor George Wajackoya, and David Wahiga are the four candidates running for president of Kenya.
William Ruto, the current vice president, and Rigathi Gachagua, his favored running mate, lead the Kenya Kwanza coalition. Large swaths of Mount Kenya, the Rift Valley, and the West Coast are under the sway of Kenya Kwanza. Rachael, Ruto’s wife, recently modified his Facebook profile picture, prompting the following responses from Kenyans.
