Wiper party stated that Party Leader Musyoka has been subjected to intense pressure from candidates of the Wiper Party Ticket, who have openly told him that they will continue to campaign for Raila as Presidential Candidate.
The 500 candidates, who met in Machakos on Monday, said Mr Musyoka’s announcement last week to withdraw from Azimio and that he would run for the presidency on a Wiper ticket was personal.
The announcement by the Chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, Wafula Chebukati on Monday said that they would abide by the parties’ law to approve the candidates also meant it would be difficult for Mr Musyoka to be in office on August 9.
“We will follow the rules regarding elections. The resolution brought us their code and we gave them a certificate of validity. So we expect members to respect them, ”said Mr Chebukati. According to the alliance agreement in Azimio La Umoja, the affiliates may not withdraw six months before the election and six months later.
This will bind Mr Musyoka in the Resolution. Rumor has it that for fear of getting caught in the cold of the cold as the campaign begins, Mr Musyoka will announce the return of Azimio-One Kenya any time this week.
Proponents of her case have been working to make the actual transcript of this statement available online. “We want to be part of the new Kenya. That is why we say that there is still room for our leader to
negotiate with the Azimio as our party can contribute to its success.” Wiper co-ordinator Robert Mbui said on Monday.
Mr Mbui, who is also a Kathiani MP, said the issue was Wiper’s as a party and not Mr Musyoka’s: “We want to know what Wiper as a party will get because our interests as a party are greater than one man’s.” He clarified that Mr.Musyoka had announced his withdrawal from Azimio la Umoja because here was no room for dialogue, Majority of Wiper ticket candidates are urging Mr Musyoka to return to Azimio.
On Monday last week, the Wiper leader announced his resignation from Azimio and that he would run for office after Coalition Presidential candidate Raila Odinga nominated Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua as his running mate in the August 9 presidential race.
Mr Musyoka has been urged by leaders of the Declaration to return to Azimio la Umoja.
