Geoffrey Rigathi Gachagua is 57 years of age born in 1965, he was the August child to Nahashon Gachagua Reriani and Martha kirigo. Since 2017 he has been a member of parliament for Mathira constituency and fortunately enough he has been named the 2022 president running mate under Kenya kwanza political coalition headed by the presidential aspirant William Ruto.
Rigath is considered a great mobiliser and the de-facto kingpin of Mt. Kenya region a postion previously held by the outgoing president, Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta.

1.He was born Ruguru village of Mathira Constituency, Nyeri county where He enrolled at Kabiruini Primary School from 1971 to 1977 before proceeding to kianyanga high school for his O-levels and A-levels. In 1985, he joined university of Nairobi where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree; Political Science and Literature in 1988. Between 1999 and 2000, he joined Kenya School Of Government where he graduated with a Diploma in Advanced Public Administration. He later proceeded to serve as a District Officer in Kakamega, Ng’arua and Laikipia Districts.
2. He onced worked as personal assistance to Uhuru Kenyatta Between 2001 and 2006
Gachagua worked as Personal Assistant to Uhuru Kenyatta, the current President of the Republic of Kenya. Gachagua however remained invisible to the public eyes until he was elected as a Member of Parliament for Mathira constituency in 2017 under jubilee party.
3. He is a brother to the late Nyeri governor nderitu Gachagua
Rigathi Gachagua apart from shairing blood with the late first governor to Nyeri, Rigathi was served him as personal assist nice and at one time he was accused of running the show while the former was sick. He was accused of doing business with the county, amounting to a conflict of interest.
However, in a recent interview, he refuted the claims daring his accusers to “bring it on” if they had evidence.
“We never did any business with Nyeri county, we were never going to do it, and I want people to stop pursuing my brother when he is resting, let him rest in peace. Anyone who has evidence that we did business with the county, bring it on,” the first time MP said.
4. He is facing a Ksh 12 billion money laundering case
As of 2021, detectives were probing five counties, government parastatals, and his own National Government Constituency Development Fund, where he is suspected of fraudulently winning tenders using 22 companies.
