Mwanasha Johari’s Life History
Mwanasha Johari recently disclosed in an interview that she comes from a humble background.
She was born in Tanga, Tanzania, in the late 1990s. Johari’s parents died seven months later, signaling the start of her problems. This compelled her uncle and aunt to care for her.
Mwanasha Johari said that she walked to school barefooted while attending her lower primary school in Msambweni. She went on to say that she didn’t have a problem keeping her books.
“I went to school barefoot, I did not even have a bag to keep my books. My aunt used to wake up so early to sell mangoes just for me to eat. She would kiss my forehead before she left. In the evening she would always bring me a snack,” she said.
Mwanasha Johari’s circumstances deteriorated further in 2008. Johari was then transferred to the Furaha Girls’ Orphanage in Utange for additional schooling.
Months later, Mwanasha struck gold when a foreigner heading the orphanage awarded her a scholarship to St. Elizabeth School, which is adjacent to the orphanage.
