Remember Diana Chepkemoi, Meru University student Rescued From Saudia? Here is What Happened to Her Months Later

Diana Chepkemoi, 24, returned to Kenya exactly one month ago after facing unspeakable pain at the hands of her employer in Saudi Arabia, where she traveled in June 2021 to seek greener posturers.
Even before her homecoming, there was widespread public outrage as photographs of her seeming unwell and underweight went viral on social media. Diana was detained in Saudi Arabia by her employer, who’d already cut off all connection between Diana and her family in Kenya.
Something was obviously incorrect. Diana said her boss was mistreating her, that she was ill, couldn’t get to the hospital, and that her health was rapidly deteriorating.
“We tried to talk to the boss and he said Diana is yet to complete her working days as per the contract she signed and is now holding her hostage. Once you see those photos circulating online, you will agree that my sister needs all the help she can get immediately. I am scared she might not make it home alive,” her sister, Lorraine Cheptoo, said at the time.
Diana was eventually able to return home after the Kenyan government intervened as a result of prolonged public pressure.
Diana is performing well one month later. She earned a full scholarship to Meru University, from which she dropped university to seek employment to aid her mother, as well as housing and a job offer.
She is now fully recovered and active on social media. She already has over 20,000 TikTok followers, where she often publishes inspirational videos about how God provided for her.
The 24-year-old Meru university student appears to be influenced by Gospel music as a TikToker. The majority of her web videos contain gospel themes.
In one TikTok video, she dances to Pastor Tumaini’s Umenibeba song.
“He has done me wonders and I cannot tell it all. I will live to testify of His goodness till the end of time,” she says in another post.
“Sometimes, a blessing is not just a thing that is celebrated. Sometime a blessing is really the moments of pain and turmoil because of what it will produce,” Diana says in yet another Tik Tok post.
Diana says she will be eternally grateful to God for rescuing her from her traumatic ordeal, despite the fact that her Christian faith has been tested to its breaking point.
