Mr Seed, a gospel singer, has castigated Avril for refusing to collaborate on one of his songs. Mr Seed claimed that he had pursued the singer for four years without success.
During the release of Bridget Blue’s album, Avril mentioned her friend Blue, praising her for her talent and love of music.
Avril urged female musicians to support one another in light of the difficulties they face in the music industry.
Mr Seed confronted Avril during the interview with claims that she had refused to work with him for four years.
“Huyu alininyima collabo. Nimemtafuta miaka minne mpaka saa hii ameniambia ameretire( This one refused to work with me for four years. She told me she was retiring in the music industry),” he said.
In her defence, Avril stated that she was carried away by her album, Psyche, and therefore was unable to team up with Mr Seed.
Avril said, “I reserve my comments. Please tell your people to talk to my people.”
Mr Seed is not the first artiste to say Avril denied them a collabo.
A few years back according to reports from a reliable source, Naiboi who is one of the popular artist in the country also said she refused to feature in one of his songs 2in1 which went viral in 2018.
After that, the mother of one clarified that she was still nursing scars from giving birth and didn’t see the need to jump on the project, despite promising to do so.
“From my understanding nilimnyima video ya 2in1. So I had just delivered my baby and I was in recovery mode. So Naiboi akanitumia message akaniambia.” Avril stated in her defense.
According to Avril, she could have accepted the offer if another singer in her similar conditions could have asked her about doing collabo.
“Hey is it possible for you, (lakini siwezi vindicate sana lakini no one knew I was in recovery) to do a video for me, I said yes. Sasa mimi nafikiria hii video nafaa kufanya in like a week, so me I thought ni kitu kama ya one week and I will be ready to do, mdogo mdogo two hours later anashinda akituma messages ile video niaje, Kesho ile video, aiish Dude!!!,’ she explained.
