Chebet Birir, a well-known journalist, has stated that today is her last day at the KTN television channel, which is owned by the Standard Group.

This was done via a lengthy Instagram post in which she expressed gratitude to everyone who had helped her along her three-year-long path to success in the media sector.

“Today officially marks my final day at work with @standardkenya @ktnnews.

It’s been an amazing journey and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been part of this for the last three years..” she said in part.

It should be noted that she also used the phrase Veni Vidi Vici, which is a Latin phrase that was used by Julius Ceaser to mean “I came, I saw, I conquered”.

Even though some may not know Chebet Birir is a mental health champion, and even the stories that she used to do at KTN were mainly those to deal with matters of health.

Some of the shows included the ‘Doctor’s Diary’ and ‘Health Digest”.

According to her biography, Chebet Birir is also a distinguished journalist who was recently honored at the 2022 Annual Journalism Excellence Awards (AJEA).Photo Courtesy

It’s official: Chebet Birir has joined KTN.

As was previously mentioned, the journalist had spent three years at KTN before deciding to leave.

She apparently started working for the media company in late July 2019, as seen by her Instagram posts, where she gushed over her new position.

“@lupitanyongo did not lie when she said that your dreams are valid. Yes! no matter who you are, no matter where you’re from, no matter what you’re going through, your dreams are valid and… God’s timing is the best”.

She is a graduate of the Aga Khan University Graduate School of Media and Communications and one of 12 journalists chosen from 900 applicants; she is a mother of two.
