Kibaki’s second secret was lack of vast interest in individual business.
Kibaki Family had very little interest in the Business world. Apart from crazy deals crafted by the “NARC Activist” Kibaki largely kept off public tenders and businesses. And in the cases that the Activist went overboard, she was shut down by other powers.
She took over the Third Mobile License through Econet, and used a fake entity called Kenya National Farmers Federation as the main shareholders. However, a US based consortium called Kenya Telecommunication Investment Group (KTIG) took on Wambui and effectively scuttled her plans.
Compared to the current Regime, where the big family has interest in basically all key sectors.
This is what led to the State Capture of the Economy by a few…..
They started off with Milk, killed all Milk sector competitors, and created a super monopoly. Look at the price of milk right now.
They then came to media. Created a fake Agency called the Government Advertising Agency…. Used it to kill the media, and now Kenyan media is under the hands of a few. Look at the number of retrenchments in the media.
They then went to construction set up a cement manufacturing company and another Cabro works company… Look at the price of cement.
They then used a Kalasinga to enter the Sugar sector. They are now buying off all the Sugar Factories in Western and Nyanza… And look at the price of sugar….
They then used the same Kalasinga to go into Cooking oil import… Look at the price of cooking oil……
They then went into Petrol Station Business… And created a stupid thing called subsidies, and are using the subsidy to kill the independent Petrol stations, so that they continue the dominance
They then went to Education Sector..first, they kicked out bookstores from business by supplying books directly. This led to loss of about 300,000 jobs. They saw how Education Sector money is sweet and easy to make… . And introduced a stupid thing called CBC.. This is a purely commercial driven curriculum change, that is why it was rushed at insane speed. Deals worth 300 billion are on the table, starting from training, books, construction and IT projects…. All these will be eaten by a few people selected by the big family…
I’ve not mentioned the mega deals in the Infrastructure, roads and Ports.. That will take about a week to write and about 20 chapters
I’ve not touched the Nairobi County deals and the upcoming City they are building..
And in order to continue with the deals, they have been incorporating a powerful family from Nyanza into the deals, so that they continue using the Nyanza family to hurt Kenyans….
If there is a lesson we should learn is this…. – These big families with large commercial interests should never be allowed to be anywhere near power….
Kibaki Family will remain the most disciplined political family ever seen in Africa.
