Former Bungoma county governor, Hon. Wycliffe Wangamati, a former ally of Raila Odinga, was seen attending a UDA meeting at Bomas of Kenya.
Wangamati, who left the Azimio coalition, arrived at the event alongside other UDA leaders from Bungoma, including Hon.
Didmus Barasa. He had previously been a member of the DAP-KENYA party but left after losing the gubernatorial seat to Hon. Kenneth Lusaka, who was running on the Kenya Kwanza ticket.

Wangamati expressed his enthusiasm for joining the UDA, stating that it is a visionary party with the best interests of the Mulembe nation in mind.
Reports suggest that he intends to contest the top county seat in 2027 under President William Ruto’s party.
The UDA meeting aims to address various important issues, including the upcoming grassroots elections nationwide.
These elections are scheduled to take place before the end of the year, possibly in December.
The party will announce the specific election date and the procedures involved.
This gathering represents a significant shift in political alliances and strategies within Kenyan politics.
