EALA Member of Parliament Winnie Odinga has arrived in Homa Bay in preparation for the opening of Raila Odinga Stadium.

It has been verified by Nation media that Raila has been invited as the Chief guest to officially inaugurate the multi-million dollar stadium in Homabay by Governor Hon Gladys Wanga.
Apparently the stadium was named after Raila Odinga, a key political figure in the area who is heavily supported by Hon Wanga.
Raila will be in Homabay a few days before Head of State, Dr. William Ruto, makes his way through the area.
The Governor posted a beautiful photo of the nearly finished stadium, which was lit up for the first time last night in preparation for its opening today, on her Facebook page.
The ODM leader’s name graces a KSh 369 million stadium that has been under development for the past nine years.
Newly crowned Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia will face off against the combined Luo Nyanza in an exhibition football match at Raila Odinga Homa Bay Stadium.
On Friday, June 30, and Saturday, July 1, Raila will host a two-day festival called Piny Luo Extravaganza.

The Lake region community will be united as different groups with vested interests in the area come together for this event.
Members of parliament from the area and ex-governor Cyprian Awiti will also be present for the inaugural ceremony for the county.
The stadium was named after Raila because “he is from Nyanza and is a close confidant of Governor Gladys Wanga,” according to the source.
Here are some examples of the range of opinions expressed by the many netizens that descended upon Winnie’s comment section:
