The young lawmaker has been unmarried and looking for a wife for a few weeks before she made her proposal.
The singer claims that she told him she was unmarried and would be ideal for the lawmaker.
He was the second of nine children and grew up in a poor environment where they had to rely on sponsorships to pay for his education.
Salasya said in an interview last year that after he lost a parliamentary seat in 2017, his ex-lover left him for a wealthy man.
After seven months of dating, she broke up with me because she realised I couldn’t afford to keep her after I lost the 2017 General Election. “It’s because she’s still married,” he said.
He went on a few dates before he was elected and said that many of the women would make fun of him because he was poor.

Salasya said in a recent interview that the woman of his dreams is a young Christian convert.
He also made it clear that she needed to be enthusiastic about his political endeavour and comfortable striking up conversations with strangers while out canvassing for votes.
Elsie Muhanda, a female legislator from Kakamega, had already proposed the establishment of a committee to aid the young MP in his search for a spouse.
Muhanda, while in Kakamega, announced that Peter Nabulindo, an MP from Matungu, will be in charge of the special committee.
After winning a seat in parliament in the midterm elections on August 9, the MP quickly rose to prominence online.
