As the death toll in Shakahola Forest rises, more information about how Muslims have misused their faith to commit atrocities against humanity and for their personal ends has emerged.

The national chair of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM), Hassan Ole Naado, appeared today before the senate ad hoc committee investigating the deaths at Shakahola.
He advocated criminal charges for anyone who twisted religious teachings to suit their own ends. He has said that he will concentrate on people rather than groups in order to guarantee that the correct message is preached.

This comes after Paul Mackenzie’s backers were said to have skipped meals in an effort to get the prisoners released. They must face legal consequences because of their suicide attempt. Ten more dead had been discovered on the other side, suggesting that more people are sheltering over there.
