Mike Mbuvi Sonko, a politician in Kenya, was removed from his position as governor of Nairobi shortly after the 2017 general elections on suspicion of involvement in the theft of county finances.
Mike Mbuvi Sonko has not held an elected or appointive top position in the country since he was impeached as governor; he had hoped to run for the Mombasa gubermatorial seat in the 2022 general elections, but the impeachment case prevented him from doing so.

Mike Sink has been vocal on social media, most recently posting a video in which the ex-governor displays large sums of money, in this case both Kenyan and American currency.

Mike Sonko seems angry in the video at someone he hasn’t named; he starts by saying that an adult who has completed their education is not a child, then he says that he doesn’t waste money on kids but on his wife, and then he backtracks and says that he wastes money on his wives.

Mike Sonko then proceeds to open two containers containing wrapped bundles of U.S. dollars and other Kenyan notes, and he is heard asking whether the person he is addressing understands the meaning of money before adding that the money he has displayed is only meant for fuel and that he will use the money to transport the person to Embu if he goes before him.
