During their rampage, the assailants reportedly shot and killed a police officer and the brother of Nollywood actress Osita Iheme.
Many were shocked by the tragic event, which took place in Imo State while the two were traveling together, unaware of what was about to happen.

The commissioner was shot and sent to the hospital, but Iheme died at the scene.
Prince Iheme, the leading man, is one of the most talented actors of his day. He co-starred with Chinedu Ikedieze in the hit movie Aki na Ukwa as the beloved character Pawpaw.
At the African Movie Academy Awards in 2007, Osita was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. He’s widely regarded as Nigeria’s top actor.
Iheme spoke candidly about the long-simmering anguish in his heart in a recent interview with Entertainment Express.

As a young child, he lost his father in 1990, he claimed, and the circumstances surrounding his death remain a mystery to this day.
Later, it was reported that Iheme was in the car with the state commissioner for solid minerals, Martins Eke, when gunmen opened fire at Ubomiri, Mbaitoli council area of the state, injuring Eke severely with a machete. This was devastating news for Nigerian moviegoers.
Kenyans mourn the loss of Nollywood’s Iheme star.
