A well-known comedian, Kelvin Mwangi was a star in his own right. He became well-known after performing as Shaniqwa. He was even featured on KTN’s flagship program.
The good times and the cash began to flow. A turning point occurred, however, when he lost his co-hosting gig on KTN’s weekly Friday show, Life and Style. He had to reevaluate and restructure his budget after losing his job, which did not go over well with his wife.

He claimed that his wife had been spoiled by their comfortable lifestyle and would not accept Kelvin’s plan to move them into poverty.
When asked about his life after being dismissed, he responded, “At the time after I was fired, my life was in shambles owing to harsh economic circumstances as I could not afford to pay rent and supply day-to-day basic needs for my wife and tiny child, Kevatin Khangi.” This was on an episode of the Jeff Kuria Show.
His fridge, TV, blender, and other devices were among the items that real estate agents arrived to auction off from his home. I had my TV, refrigerator, and blender auctioned off by agents, so I moved my family back to the village,’ he explained. After a while, his wife began cheating on him. As Kelvin explained it, his buddies frequently sent him photos of his wife in highly suggestive poses.
When Shaniqwa got back to Nairobi and started feeling down, radio host Jalang’o and comedian Henry Desagu, whose real name is, stepped in to help. Since I hadn’t eaten in three days, I passed out one day at home. In an effort to be honest, I sent a message to Jalas.
Saying, “I requested him to call me after his show,” she said. He told Jalang’o about his problems. Because Kelvin was having trouble making ends meet, Jalang’o tracked down his landlord’s contact information and offered to cover his rent for as long as nine months.Shaniqwa and Desagu began making YouTube videos and posting comedic sketches.
The wife found out and made peace overture. Kelvin concurred. She returned to her former partner’s apartment two days after reconciling. He is now a single parent trying to get his life and comedy career back on track while parenting his child.
